ec59b59b97 nir: rename nir_src_parent_instr to nir_src_use_instr
sed -i "s/nir_src_parent_instr/nir_src_use_instr/" `find ./ -type f`
sed -i "s/nir_src_parent_if/nir_src_use_if/" `find ./ -type f`
sed -i "s/nir_src_set_parent/nir_src_set_use/" `find ./ -type f`

There are two kinds of "parent" in relation to a src/def:
- the instruction where the def or src's def is defined
- the instruction which the src is a part of and where the def is used

Clarify that the parent here is where the src's def is used, not where
it's defined.

50ab52f135 microsoft/compiler, d3d12: preserve TCS outputs and pad TES inputs for cross-stage signature matching
Four linked D3D12 pipeline-validation problems with GLSL TCS on DXIL:

1) dxil_nir_kill_unused_outputs killed TCS outputs read back by the
   patch-constant function after a barrier, zeroing the tess factors.
   Keep shader_out locations with any intra-shader load_deref live
   regardless of next_stage_read_mask.

2) is_dead_in_variable dropped TES padding placeholders (no local
   uses) in nir_remove_dead_variables. Also honor
   prev_stage_written_mask so padded TES inputs stay alive.

3) Preserving (1) leaves HS with outputs the DS doesn't declare,
   breaking pipeline validation (e.g. piglit's barrier.shader_test).
   Add dxil_nir_pad_tes_input_signature, called from both link paths,
   to synthesize matching TES inputs (reusing each TCS output's type
   so sig shape and stride match byte-for-byte) plus the tess-level
   inputs -- subsuming the tess-level-only block previously in
   dxil_spirv_nir_link. Scope the per-variable padding to TCS
   outputs that TCS itself reads back via load_deref: outputs that
   neither TES nor TCS consumes get killed from the HS signature,
   so padding them into DS would make the DS input signature longer
   than HS output and break validation for SSO pipelines whose TCS
   declares unused per-patch writes (arb_separate_shader_objects/
   mix-and-match-tcs-tes).

4) remove_hs_intrinsics rewrote load_output but not
   load_per_vertex_output in HS main. With (1) keeping outputs alive,
   GLSL reads of outputs in main whose result survives DCE (UAV
   atomics, non-tess per-vertex output writes) left
   LoadOutputControlPoint in the control-point function, which dxil.dll
   rejects outside the PCF (CreatePipelineState then fails with
   E_INVALIDARG). Treat load_per_vertex_output like load_output.

Validated on piglit arb_tessellation_shader/execution (WARP + DXC
1.8.2403): barrier now passes; the previously-crashing
tcs-output-unmatched and variable-indexing/tcs-output-array-* fail
gracefully matching baseline; isoline/isoline-no-tcs remain flakes
(pre-existing canary corruption, unrelated).

d3d12-quick_shader.txt drops barrier; d3d12-flakes.txt adds
isoline-no-tcs alongside isoline.

1d923fdd2b microsoft/compiler, d3d12: flip tess winding at caller, not in nir_to_dxil
get_tessellator_output_primitive used to unconditionally invert CW<->CCW
on the assumption the input was GL-origin (lower-left). That was wrong
for any upper-left caller — including spirv_to_dxil, whose SPIR-V sources
(DXC, glslang) already align with D3D winding.

Make nir_to_dxil copy info.tess.ccw through and expect upper-left. The
d3d12 gallium driver (GL) flips before the conversion to preserve its
output. spirv_to_dxil and dozen (Vulkan, UPPER_LEFT default) are unchanged.

1262600f0f microsoft/compiler: sink load_invocation_id in TCS split even for single-use
dxil_nir_split_tess_ctrl sinks load_invocation_id into per-use local
loads before wrapping the pre-barrier region in a loop. That sinking
was skipped when the load had only one use, on the assumption that
duplication wasn't needed.

The skip produces wrong code when the single use is on the opposite
side of the barrier from the load — e.g. HLSL-style TCS with a post-
barrier `if (InvocationId == 0)` patch-constant gate. The load gets
wrapped into the loop but the use stays outside, and after SSA repair
the use sees the counter's post-loop value (== tcs_vertices_out),
making the gate fold to false. opt_dead_cf then strips the patch-
constant stores inside the gate body, producing an empty
PatchConstantFunc and zero tess factors at runtime.

Dropping the list_is_singular skip moves the single-use load right
before its use, letting the existing pre/post-barrier handling wrap
each region correctly. Multi-use loads still get one local load per
use as before.

Some checks are pending
macOS-CI / macOS-CI (dri) (push) Waiting to run
macOS-CI / macOS-CI (xlib) (push) Waiting to run
dzn_physical_device_create runs dzn_wsi_init which allocates and initilizes wsi_interfaces.
If the wsi initlizalization fails, the wsi_interfaces are cleaned up and freed (wsi_common.c:330-> wsi_device_finish).
Once the failure propogates up, dzn_physical_device_create runs dzn_physical_device_destroy.
Then, dzn_wsi_finish frees the wsi_interfaces again.

Above path led to a Segmentation Fault on my system when running:
dEQP-VK.api.device_init.create_instance_device_intentional_alloc_fail.basic

This change removes dzn_wsi_finish call if dzn_wsi_init fails, avoiding

734b6a8c35 vk: descriptors: sort bindings along with flags
Some checks are pending
macOS-CI / macOS-CI (dri) (push) Waiting to run
macOS-CI / macOS-CI (xlib) (push) Waiting to run
Vulkan spec requires binding flags to be matched with the binding with
the same index, however currently bindings are sorted with flags not
properly sorted, which leads to bindings and flags mismatch.

Resolve this by adding optional flags info to the parameters of
vk_create_sorted_bindings(), and refactoring panvk/pvr (which really
pair bindings and flags instead of only iterating flags) to use sorted
flags.

b860ae309a vulkan: Optionally share one JSON manifest per driver between architectures
If the library_path is just a basename like `libvulkan_lvp.so`, then we
can share the same JSON manifest like `lvp_icd.json` between all of the
architectures, like we already do for Vulkan layers. The library will
be looked up in the dynamic linker's default search path in this case,
and in practice will be found in `${libdir}`. This is how the Mesa's
EGL driver and Vulkan layers work, how Mesa is packaged in Debian 13,
and also how the Nvidia proprietary driver works; it makes installation
simpler for distros, especially on multiarch systems like Debian and
the freedesktop.org SDK.

However, if we want a separate manifest per architecture in order to
be able to write the full path into it, we still need per-architecture
filename disambiguation like `lvp_icd.x86_64.json`.

We presumably still want a separate per architecture on Windows, because
the concept of a single monolithic `${libdir}` is less common there, and
it can also be helpful during development when setting `$VK_DRIVER_FILES`
to force the use of a specific driver installed in a non-default location.

Use the following parameter to passed to vk_icd_gen:
'--icd-lib-path', vulkan_icd_lib_path,
'--icd-filename', icd_file_name,
output : 'virtio_icd.' + vulkan_manifest_suffix,

and the output is passed by '--out', '@OUTPUT@',
so we can detect vulkan_manifest_per_architecture from the --out parameter in script.

6d9f563960 spirv: Assume variable workgroup size unless it's set
This fixes an issue a bunch of different components were all working
around themselves where sometimes we don't have a workgroup size but
workgroup_size_variable is false. This also fixes asahi_clc, which
didn't have the workaround and was assuming zero (but not variable!)
workgroup sizes everywhere.

de32f9275f treewide: add & use parent instr helpers
We add a bunch of new helpers to avoid the need to touch >parent_instr,
including the full set of:

* nir_def_is_*
* nir_def_as_*_or_null
* nir_def_as_* [assumes the right instr type]
* nir_src_is_*
* nir_src_as_*
* nir_scalar_is_*
* nir_scalar_as_*

Plus nir_def_instr() where there's no more suitable helper.

Also an existing helper is renamed to unify all the names, while we're
churning the tree:

* nir_src_as_alu_instr -> nir_src_as_alu

..and then we port the tree to use the helpers as much as possible, using
nir_def_instr() where that does not work.

Acked-by: Marek Olšák <maraeo@gmail.com>

To eliminate nir_def::parent_instr we need to churn the tree anyway, so I'm
taking this opportunity to clean up a lot of NIR patterns.

222b85328e mesa: replace most occurrences of getenv() with os_get_option()
The standard way to query options in mesa is `os_get_option()` which
abstracts platform-specific mechanisms to get config variables.

However in quite a few places `getenv()` is still used and this may
preclude controlling some options on some systems.

For instance it is not generally possible to use `MESA_DEBUG` on
Android.

So replace most `getenv()` occurrences with `os_get_option()` to
support configuration options more consistently across different
platforms.

Do the same with `secure_getenv()` replacing it with
`os_get_option_secure()`.

The bulk of the proposed changes are mechanically performed by the
following script:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
  #!/bin/sh

  set -e

  replace() {

    # Don't replace in some files, for example where `os_get_option` is defined,
    # or in external files
    EXCLUDE_FILES_PATTERN='(src/util/os_misc.c|src/util/u_debug.h|src/gtest/include/gtest/internal/gtest-port.h)'

    # Don't replace some "system" variables
    EXCLUDE_VARS_PATTERN='("XDG|"DISPLAY|"HOME|"TMPDIR|"POSIXLY_CORRECT)'

    git grep "[=!( ]$1(" -- src/ | cut -d ':' -f 1 | sort | uniq | \
      grep -v -E "$EXCLUDE_FILES_PATTERN" | \
      while read -r file;
      do
        # Don't replace usages of XDG_* variables or HOME
        sed -E -e "/$EXCLUDE_VARS_PATTERN/!s/([=!\( ])$1\(/\1$2\(/g" -i "$file";
      done
  }

  # Add const to os_get_option results, to avoid warning about discarded qualifier:
  # warning: initialization discards ‘const’ qualifier from pointer target type [-Wdiscarded-qualifiers]
  # but also errors in some cases:
  # error: invalid conversion from ‘const char*’ to ‘char*’ [-fpermissive]
  add_const_results() {
    git grep -l -P '(?<!const )char.*os_get_option' | \
      while read -r file;
      do
        sed -e '/^\s*const/! s/\(char.*os_get_option\)/const \1/g' -i "$file"
      done
  }

  replace 'secure_getenv' 'os_get_option_secure'

  replace 'getenv' 'os_get_option'

  add_const_results
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

After this, the `#include "util/os_misc.h"` is also added in files where
`os_get_option()` was not used before.

And since the replacements from the script above generated some new
`-Wdiscarded-qualifiers` warnings, those have been addressed as well,
generally by declaring `os_get_option()` results as `const char *` and
adjusting some function declarations.

Finally some replacements caused new errors like:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
../src/gallium/auxiliary/gallivm/lp_bld_misc.cpp:127:31: error: no matching function for call to 'strtok'
  127 |          for (n = 0, option = strtok(env_llc_options, " "); option; n++, option = strtok(NULL, " ")) {
      |                               ^~~~~~
/android-ndk-r27c/toolchains/llvm/prebuilt/linux-x86_64/bin/../sysroot/usr/include/string.h:124:17: note: candidate function not viable: 1st argument ('const char *') would lose const qualifier
  124 | char* _Nullable strtok(char* _Nullable __s, const char* _Nonnull __delimiter);
      |                 ^      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Those have been addressed too, copying the const string returned by
`os_get_option()` so that it could be modified.

In particular, the error above has been fixed by copying the `const
char *env_llc_options` variable in
`src/gallium/auxiliary/gallivm/lp_bld_misc.cpp` to a `char *` which can
be tokenized using `strtok()`.

b824ef83ab util/dynarray: infer type in append
Most of the time, we can infer the type to append in
util_dynarray_append using __typeof__, which is standardized in C23 and
support in Jesse's MSMSVCV. This patch drops the type argument most of
the time, making util_dynarray a little more ergonomic to use.

This is done in four steps.

First, rename util_dynarray_append -> util_dynarray_append_typed

    bash -c "find . -type f -exec sed -i -e 's/util_dynarray_append(/util_dynarray_append_typed(/g' \{} \;"

Then, add a new append that infers the type. This is much more ergonomic
for what you want most of the time.

Next, use type-inferred append as much as possible, via Coccinelle
patch (plus manual fixup):

    @@
    expression dynarray, element;
    type type;
    @@

    -util_dynarray_append_typed(dynarray, type, element);
    +util_dynarray_append(dynarray, element);

Finally, hand fixup cases that Coccinelle missed or incorrectly
translated, of which there were several because we can't used the
untyped append with a literal (since the sizeof won't do what you want).

All four steps are squashed to produce a single patch changing every
util_dynarray_append call site in tree to either drop a type parameter
(if possible) or insert a _typed suffix (if we can't infer). As such,
the final patch is best reviewed by hand even though it was
tool-assisted.

No Long Linguine Meals were involved in the making of this patch.
