This patch is huge, but the public API change is not
really large. The set of D-BUS types has changed somewhat,
and the arg "getters" are more geared toward language bindings;
they don't make a copy, etc.

The primary change here is to always write() once before adding
the write watch, which gives us about a 10% performance increase.

Though in practice ever using this feature would be pretty tough,
since protocol probably modifies the API. But we could have it there
as a safety net.
Remove base64 encoding, replace with hex encoding. Original patch
from trow@ximian.com, added error handling.
