b0dc95f816 wwan: recheck available connections when modem becomes unlocked (bgo #740966)
NMDevice rechecks available connections when the device moves to the
DISCONNECTED state, but connections are not available if the modem is
PIN locked at that time. Available connections were never re-checked
when the modem was then unlocked while in the DISCONNECTED state.

3bfb163a74 all: consistently include config.h
config.h should be included from every .c file, and it should be
included before any other include. Fix that.

(As a side effect of how I did this, this also changes us to
consistently use "config.h" rather than <config.h>. To the extent that
it matters [which is not much], quotes are more correct anyway, since
we're talking about a file in our own build tree, not a system
include.)

b108790833 libnm-core: add nm-core-types.h, remove cross-includes
Add nm-core-types.h, typedefing all of the GObject types in
libnm-core; this is needed so that nm-setting.h can reference
NMConnection in addition to nm-connection.h referencing NMSetting.

Removing the cross-includes from the various headers causes lots of
fallout elsewhere. (In particular, nm-utils.h used to include
nm-connection.h, which included every setting header, so any file that
included nm-utils.h automatically got most of the rest of libnm-core
without needing to pay attention to specifics.) Fix this up by
including nm-core-internal.h from those files that are now missing
includes.

2d8e7bd247 libnm-core: merge NMSetting*Error into NMConnectionError
Each setting type was defining its own error type, but most of them
had exactly the same three errors ("unknown", "missing property", and
"invalid property"), and none of the other values was of much use
programmatically anyway.

So, this commit merges NMSettingError, NMSettingAdslError, etc, all
into NMConnectionError. (The reason for merging into NMConnectionError
rather than NMSettingError is that we also already have
"NMSettingsError", for errors related to the settings service, so
"NMConnectionError" is a less-confusable name for settings/connection
errors than "NMSettingError".)

Also, make sure that all of the affected error messages are localized,
and (where appropriate) prefix them with the relevant property name.

Renamed error codes:

NM_SETTING_ERROR_PROPERTY_NOT_FOUND -> NM_CONNECTION_ERROR_PROPERTY_NOT_FOUND
NM_SETTING_ERROR_PROPERTY_NOT_SECRET -> NM_CONNECTION_ERROR_PROPERTY_NOT_SECRET

Remapped error codes:

00fe31f5cd core: move device factory type function into factory object
In preparation for internal device types exposing factories too, it's
easier to have the device type that the factory creates be returned
by the factory object instead of the plugin, because internal device
types don't have plugins.

This requires that we create the factory objects earlier, which
further requires that any operations that trigger signals must be
moved out of each factory's construction path to a separate start()
function.

c81fb49aa5 all: fix up multiple-include-guard defines
Previously, src/nm-ip4-config.h, libnm/nm-ip4-config.h, and
libnm-glib/nm-ip4-config.h all used "NM_IP4_CONFIG_H" as an include
guard, which meant that nm-test-utils.h could not tell which of them
was being included (and so, eg, if you tried to include
nm-ip4-config.h in a libnm test, it would fail to compile because
nm-test-utils.h was referring to symbols in src/nm-ip4-config.h).

Fix this by changing the include guards in the non-API-stable parts of
the tree:

  - libnm-glib/nm-ip4-config.h remains NM_IP4_CONFIG_H
  - libnm/nm-ip4-config.h now uses __NM_IP4_CONFIG_H__
  - src/nm-ip4-config.h now uses __NETWORKMANAGER_IP4_CONFIG_H__

And likewise for all other headers.

The two non-"nm"-prefixed headers, libnm/NetworkManager.h and
src/NetworkManagerUtils.h are now __NETWORKMANAGER_H__ and
__NETWORKMANAGER_UTILS_H__ respectively, which, while not entirely
consistent with the general scheme, do still mostly make sense in
isolation.

dc1b76432b include: drop nm-settings-flags.h, move NMSecretAgentGetSecretsFlags
For some reason, the flags used by o.fd.NM.SecretAgent.GetSecrets were
defined as both NMSecretAgentGetSecretsFlags in
libnm{,-glib}/nm-secret-agent.h, and then separately as
NMSettingsGetSecretsFlags in include/nm-settings-flags.h.
(NMSettingsGetSecretsFlags also had an additional internal-use-only
value, but that was added later after the duplication already
existed.)

Fix this by moving NMSecretAgentGetSecretsFlags from libnm to
nm-dbus-interface.h, adding the internal-use-only value to it as well,
updating the core code to use that, and then removing
nm-settings-flags.h.

3ac0f52878 libnm, core, cli, tui: fix the capitalization of various types
GLib/Gtk have mostly settled on the convention that two-letter
acronyms in type names remain all-caps (eg, "IO"), but longer acronyms

NM was inconsistent, with most long acronyms using initial caps only

PPP, PPPOE, VPN). Fix libnm and src/ to use initial-caps only for all
three-or-more-letter-long acronyms (and update nmcli and nmtui for the

NetworkManager versions support this behaviour with no APN in the

2e0ba9d865 wwan: use a shorter DHCP timeout
With WWAN, the DHCP is all done in modem firmware, and never started

Which means the modem firmware already knows the IP details and

have to waste time with retransmits for dropped packets either.

We want to set the WWAN config last, to ensure that the configuration we

dev_ip4_config is used for DHCP and IPv4LL, which we always set first to
ensure they these don't overwrite external, administrator added config

This also synchronizes the IPv4 config path with the upcoming IPv6
config path.

27f91d054c core: simplify hardware address reading
We no longer need a class method for reading the hardware address
length, for a couple reasons:

1) Using the IP interface hardware address for IP operations now makes
NMDevice's priv->hw_addr_len constant.  So there's no reason to re-read
it all the time.

2) get_hw_address_length() is now only used for determining whether the
hardware address is permanent, and that only mattered for Bluetooth.
Since Bluetooth interfaces have a bogus interface name, they will never
have a valid ifindex, and thus nm_platform_link_get_address() would be
useless. So instead of using the 'permanent' stuff, just don't bother
updating the hardware address if the NMDevice's ifindex isn't valid,
and let subclasses pass the initial hardware address at device creation.

This also works correctly for NMDevice classes that previously
implemented get_hw_address_length() like ADSL and WWAN, since those
too will never have a valid ifindex or a valid hardware address.

3) Reading the device's hardware address length just ended up calling
nm_platform_link_get_address() for most devices anyway, so
nm_device_update_hw_address() would effectively read the link address
twice (once to read the length, the second time to read the actual
address). Let's just read the address once.

6080425088 wwan: use modem states instead of enabled/connected properties
Determining when the NMDeviceModem is available and when different
connections are available is easier if the modem's state is tracked,
instead of using the separate Enabled and Connected properties.
These properties could not accurately represent the SIM lock state
and prevented NetworkManager from making the modem available for
auto-activation when locked, even if a PIN was available.

In this new scheme, the NMDeviceModem is UNAVAILABLE when the
ModemManager modem state is FAILED, UNKNOWN, or INITIALIZING. It
transitions to the NM DISCONNECTED state when the modem has finished
initializing and has not failed.

Once the NMDeviceModem is in DISCONNECTED state it can be activated
even if the SIM is locked and a PIN is required; the PIN will be
requested when starting activation, either from the connection itself
or via a secrets request. This makes auto-activation of WWAN
connections possible.

This also allows us to consolidate code dealing with modem enable/disable
into the base NMModem class using the modem state, and to log more modem
information for debugging purposes.

in airplane mode. This makes WWAN autoconnect=true connections
actually autoconnect.

If the first connection fails during ModemManager setup for fatal
reasons (missing SIM, bad PIN, not registered), autoconnect will
be blocked for that connection until activation is manually
requested and succeeds.

5d8197a80b core: ignore modem management service state in rfkill handling
rfkill handling should only pay attention to actual rfkill, since
rfkill is global but the modem management service state is per-device.
Thus calculating a global state from multiple devices is very
likely to get things wrong.

Remove all of the code that used to handle that sort of thing,
which means removing the 'enable-changed' signal from the Modem
device, since now nothing external to the modem device should
need to care whether it's enabled internally or not.

Add -DNM_VERSION_MAX_ALLOWED=NM_VERSION_NEXT_STABLE to a bunch of
Makefile.ams that were missing it and might eventually need it.
