e57eb5b15d tests: return status from each test definition
Add a status return value to every test definition. There are no
behavioral changes, previously the RESULT_OK was simply assumed.

The benefit of this is that in the future individual tests can also
return RESULT_SKIP, so that we can keep statistics of skipped tests.

ivi-layout-internal-test.c has the only case where a test function may
return early. That one is set to return RESULT_HARD_ERROR to match the
compositor exit code already there.

Also documentation is updated.

c855bc7af0 tests: Port all test clients to the new test asserts
This commit gets rid of libc's abort() usage in the test suite using
test asserts instead.

Asserts run in the server as plugins aren't converted because they are
shared between server and client.

343adb2acd tests: Speed up runtime using immediate repaint on capture
The test suite is throttled by the headless backend repaint
timer. This commit uses the headless refresh rate option to speed up
runtime by using the immediate repaint-only-on-capture mode by
default. Tests which don't support that mode yet override the refresh
value to use the highest rate possible.

Fixes #682

c129bda562 tests: Use test-desktop-shell more widely
There's no need to spin up the full desktop-shell for the vast majority
of our tests. Rework them to use weston-test-desktop-shell, which is
more lightweight and sensible.

ef8d652023 tests: destroy client in keyboard-test
Fixes all the leaks reported by ASan in this test.

The manual keyboard release in
keyboard_timestamps_stop_after_client_releases_wl_keyboard is slightly
awkward as we need to open-code a part of input_destroy() to avoid
double-freeing keyboard->wl_keyboard.

2b44248f60 libweston: Implement keyboard timestamps for input_timestamps_unstable_v1
Implement the zwp_input_timestamps_manager_v1.get_keyboard_timestamps
request to subscribe to timestamp events for wl_keyboard resources.
Ensure that the request handling code can gracefully handle inert
keyboard resources.

This commit introduces a few internal helper functions which will also
be useful in the implementation of the remaining
zwp_input_timestamps_manager_v1 requests.

dae224c6dc tests: Add test for keyboard key event timestamps
Add test to verify that the server correctly sets the timestamps of
keyboard key events. This requires updating the weston-test protocol to
support passing key event timestamps.

simple_keyboard_test now uses the create_client_with_keyboard_focus()
helper function which changes the initial state of the surface to be
focused. This leads to one additional iteration of the test loop when
starting, during which the surface is deactivated, i.e., loses focus.
After this initial iteration the test continues as before.

Furthermore, simple_keyboard_test now uses the send_key() helper
function which performs a roundtrip internally. To account for this, the
client_roundtrip() function is now directly called in the loop only when
it is still required, i.e., when deactivating the surface.

f6a65928a8 tests: Rename wayland-test to weston-test
wayland-test isn't and will never be wayland protocol, it's weston internal.

Renamed wayland-test to weston-test, and wl_test to weston_test.

Also added a Big Fat Warning to the description of weston_test to try to
keep people from thinking it's a good idea to use some of these functions

f2aa64f18a tests: check wl_display_roundtrip() for errors
Add a macro that wraps wl_display_roundtrip() and check for errors. It
is a macro, so that the assert would show the relevant file and line
number.

This will also catch protocol errors, that would go unnoticed otherwise.

All roundtrips in tests are replaced with the check.

1f4d8e9def keyboard-test: Use wl_display_roundtrip() instead of yield()
As for button-test, a wl_display_roundtrip is sufficient here. The
yield() between wl_test_activate_surface() and wl_test_send_key() is
also not needed, since the two requests will arrive at the server in
order, and will activate the surface first, then send a key event.
