ee62f4629a kmsro: assert that scanout refcount is larger than 0
The dumb buffer backing the renderonly_scanout is only destroyed if the
refcount reaches zero. If a driver does not correctly initialize the
refcount, the refcount may be negative and the buffer will never be
freed.

Add an assert to ensure that drivers correctly initialize the refcount.

ad4d7ca833 kmsro: Fix renderonly_scanout BO aliasing
BOs can only have one handle. If renderonly_create_gpu_import_for_resource
ends up importing a BO that was already mapped for scanout, it will get
the same handle. This leaves us with two renderonly_scanout objects for
one handle, and the first one to be destroyed will free it.

Import the BO map tracking logic from asahi, to avoid aliasing
renderonly_scanout objects. Each actual BO now is only represented by a
single object instance, which is reference counted.

Fixes KWin full-screen PipeWire capture breaking scanout entirely.

0a9886cc45 renderonly: write down usage rules
The renderonly helpers are extremely easy to mis-use. Write down
the expectations.

I've seen *many* mistakes in the past, including:

- Forgetting to create the scanout resource on import [1] [2], causing
  bugs such as [3].
- Assuming the scanout resource always exists [4].
- Returning a GEM handle valid for the driver's internal DRM FD, but
  invalid for the caller's DRM FD [5].
- Not implementing resource_get_param, breaking stride/offset/modifier
  queries when no scanout resource is available [6] [7].

1bc22a2eab renderonly: don't complain when GPU import fails
There are a number of drivers which do a trial-and-error import
of buffers into the KMS side via renderonly. Some of those imports
are expected to fail, so we should not print a error message in
this case. All callers do proper error handling themselves.

882ca6dfb0 util: Move gallium's PIPE_FORMAT utils to /util/format/
To make PIPE_FORMATs usable from non-gallium parts of Mesa, I want to
move their helpers out of gallium. Since u_format used
util_copy_rect(), I moved that in there, too.

I've put it in a separate directory in util/ because it's a big chunk
of related code, and it's not clear to me whether we might want it as
a separate library from libmesa_util at some point.

7a17191305 etnaviv: Only use renderonly_get_handle for GEM handles.
Note that for requests for Prime FDs or flink names, we return handles to

And add an assert that renderonly_get_handle is only used for getting the

848b49b288 gallium: add renderonly library
This a very lightweight library to add basic support for renderonly
GPUs. A kms gallium driver must specify how a renderonly_scanout
objects gets created. Also it must provide file handles to the used
kms device and the used gpu device.

This could look like:
struct renderonly ro = {
   .create_for_resource = renderonly_create_gpu_import_for_resource,
   .kms_fd = fd,
   .gpu_fd = open("/dev/dri/renderD128", O_RDWR | O_CLOEXEC)
};

The renderonly_scanout object exits for two reasons:
 - Do any special treatment for a scanout resource like importing the
   GPU resource into the scanout hw.
 - Make it easier for a gallium driver to detect if anything special
   needs to be done in flush_resource(..) like a resolve to linear.

A GPU gallium driver which gets used as renderonly GPU needs to be
aware of the renderonly library.

This library will likely break android support and hopefully will get
replaced with a better solution based on gbm2.

Changes from V1 -> V2:
 - reworked the lifecycle of renderonly object (suggested by Nicolai Hähnle)
 - killed the midlayer (suggested by Thierry Reding)
 - made the API more explicit regarding gpu and kms fd's
 - added some docs
