Currently meson doesn't correctly handle passing compiled binaries to
scripts in tests. This patch looks to the future (0.53) when meson will
have this functionality, but also immediately it fixes these tests in
cross compiles by causing them to return 77, which meson interprets as
skip.

Currently the praser for s expressions assumes that newlines will be \n,
resulting in incorrect parsing on windows, where the newline is \r\n.
This patch just adds \r? to the regular expression used to parse the s
expressions, which fixes at 1 test on windows.

One special case, `src/util/xmlpool/.gitignore` is not entirely deleted,
as `xmlpool.pot` still gets generated (eg. by `ninja xmlpool-pot`).

Meson test has a concepts of suites, which allow tests to be grouped
together. This allows for a subtest of tests to be run only (say only
the tests for nir). A test can be added to more than one suite, but for
the most part I've only added a test to a single suite, though I've
added a compiler group that includes nir, glsl, and glcpp tests.
To use this you'll need to invoke meson test directly, instead of ninja
test (which always runs all targets). it can be invoked as:
`meson test -C builddir --suite $suitename` (meson test has addition
options that are pretty useful).

Use #pragma warning(off) and #pragma warning(on) to disable or enable
all warnings. This is a big hammer. If we ever need a smaller hammer,
we can enhance this functionality.
There is one lame thing about this. Because we parse everything, create
an AST, then convert the AST to GLSL IR, we have to treat the #pragma
like a statment. This means that you can't do something like
' void
' #pragma warning(off)
' __foo
' #pragma warning(on)
' (float param0);
Fixing that would, as far as I can tell, require a huge amount of work.
I did try just handling the #pragma during parsing (like we do for
state for the whole shader.

Turns out the python scripts are _not_ fully python 3 compatible.
As Ilia reported using get_xmlpool.py with LANG=C produces some weird
output - see the link for details.
Even though the issue was spotted with the autoconf build, it exposes a
genuine problem with the script (and lack of lang handling of the meson
build.)

This patch converts optimization-test.sh to python, in this process it
removes external shell dependencies including diff. It replaces the
python script that generates shell scripts with a python library that
generates test cases and runs them using subprocess.

This reimplements the test in python with a shell script wrapper that
allows autotools to continue to run the test without realizing that
anything has changed.
Using python has two advantages, first it's portable so this test can be
run on windows as well as Linux since it just requires python, no more
diff, pwd or sh. It's also no longer tied to autotools implementation
details, like the environment variables $srcdir and $abs_builddir,
though the autotools shell wrapper still uses those, which makes it
possible to run the test in meson.

Next patch will allow disk_cache instance to be created without
path set for it, modify some test cases that assume disk_cache
creation to fail with invalid path. Creation should succeed but
simple put/get test fail.

NIR does not have these instructions. TGSI and Mesa IR both implement
them using < and >=, repsectively. Removing them deletes a bunch of
code and means I don't have to add code to the SPIR-V generator for
them.

Despite the name, it could only be used if you immediately wrote to the
pointer. Noboby was using it outside of one test, so clearly this
behavior wasn't that useful. Instead, make it return an offset into the
data buffer so that the result isn't invalidated if you later write to
the blob. In conjunction with blob_overwrite_bytes(), this will be
useful for leaving a placeholder and then filling it in later, which
we'll need to do for handling phi nodes when serializing NIR.

There's no reason why that tiny bit of memory needs to be on the heap.
We always put blob_reader on the stack, so why not do the same with the

This gets pretty much the entire classic tree building, as well as
i965, including the various glapis. There are some workarounds for bugs
that are fixed in meson 0.43.0, which is due out on October 8th.
I have tested this with piglit using glx.

The functionality is used by glsl and mesa. With the latter already
depending on the former.
With this in place the src/util/ static library libmesautil.la no longer
has a C++ dependency. Thus objects which use it (like libEGL) don't need
the C++ link.

Steam is already analysing cache items, unfortunatly we did not
introduce a versioning mechanism for identifying structural changes
to cache entries earlier so the only way to do so is to rename the
cache directory.
Since we are renaming it we take the opportunity to give the directory
a more meaningful name.
Adding a version field to the header of cache entries will help us to
avoid having to rename the directory in future. Please note this is
versioning for the internal structure of the entries as defined in
disk_cache.{c,h} as opposed to the structure of the data provided to
the disk cache by the GLSL compiler and the various driver backends.

This will be used for things such as adding driver specific environment
variables to the key. Allowing us to set environment vars that change
the shader and not have the driver ignore them if it finds existing
shaders in the cache.

When using an overlayfs system (like a Docker container), rmrf_local()
fails because part of the files to be removed are in different mount
points (layouts). And thus cache-test fails.
Letting crossing mount points is not a big problem, specially because
this is just for a test, not to be used in real code.
