Because bad distance events still trigger calls to tablet_flush(), tablet_flush() will see that the tablet is out of proximity and assume it's an appropriate time to send a proximity-out event, even when we've already sent one. This results in multiple proximity-out events being sent in a row instead of just one. In addition, the bad distance events test has been modified to pick up on this. We shouldn't be receiving /any/ events when we get false distance events from evdev anyway. libinput libinput is a library that handles input devices for display servers and other applications that need to directly deal with input devices. It provides device detection, device handling, input device event processing and abstraction so minimize the amount of custom input code the user of libinput need to provide the common set of functionality that users expect. Input event processing includes scaling touch coordinates, generating pointer events from touchpads, pointer acceleration, etc. libinput originates from weston, the Wayland reference compositor.
