(usb) Apple touchpads with those keyboards labelled as such.

53c28a7d75 touchpad: add a special quirk for the Lenovo x220 with updated firmware
If an x220 is updated to the touchpad firmware version 8.1, the touchpad
suffers from the same issues as the x230 and needs custom acceleration code.
Unfortunately we cannot detect this otherwise, so it is left to the user as a
custom hwdb setting.

6953b51b7e evdev: drop relative x/y motion from a device not marked as pointer
A device with REL_X/Y and keys gets marked only as ID_INPUT_KEY, initializes
as keyboard and then segfaults when we send x/y coordinates - pointer
acceleration never initializes.

Ignore the events and log a bug instead. This intentionally only papers over
the underlying issue, let's wait for a real device to trigger this and then
look at the correct solution.

4c48b46d15 filter: revamp to create device-specific filters, rather than accel functions
The previous approach to pointer acceleration was to initialize the same
motion filter behavior but a different acceleration profile depending on the
hardware (the profile converts a speed to a multiplier for input deltas).

To be more flexible for hardware-specifics, change this into a set of specific
pointer acceleration init functions. This patch has no effective functional
changes, they're still all the same.

The acceleration functions are kept for direct access by the ptraccel-debug
tool.

3dd0ece9c0 evdev: split scroll threshold and direction lock threshold into two
The previous code used a 5mm threshold before axis events were posted. This
threshold was on top of the 2mm 2fg threshold (and timeout handling) in the
gesture code and effectively prevented events from being sent after a timeout,
or in the 2mm-5mm range.

We still want a directional lock though, so split the two out. The default 5mm
threshold is set to 0 for touchpads since we have our own handling of the
threshold there. The directional lock only applies once scrollin has started
and remains on 5mm.

This was a stopgap measure to support the Lenovo Carbon X1 3rd and the Lenovo

b8a2e5bc5f touchpad: Add an API for touchpad gesture events
For touchscreens we always send raw touch events to the compositor, and the
compositor or application toolkits do gesture recognition. This makes sense
because on a touchscreen which window / widget the touches are over is
important context to know to interpret gestures.

On touchpads however we never send raw events since a touchpad is an absolute
device which primary function is to send pointer motion delta-s, so we always
need to do processing (and a lot of it) on the raw events.

Moreover there is nothing underneath the finger which influences how to
interpret gestures, and there is a lot of touchpad and libinput configuration
specific context necessary for gesture recognition. E.g. is this a clickpad,
and if so are softbuttons or clickfinger used? What is the size of the
softbuttons? Is this a true multi-touch touchpad or a semi multi-touch touchpad
which only gives us a bounding box enclosing the fingers? Etc.

So for touchpads it is better to do gesture processing in libinput, this commit
adds an initial implementation of a Gesture event API which only supports swipe
gestures, other gestures will be added later following the same model wrt,
having clear start and stop events and the number of fingers involved being
fixed once a gesture sequence starts.

aa46338e8a touchpad: mark ALPS touchpads for middle button emulation

bc9f16b40e COPYING: Update boilerplate from MIT X11 to MIT Expat license
To quote Bryce Harrington from [1]:
"MIT has released software under several slightly different licenses,
including the old 'X11 License' or 'MIT License'. Some code under this
license was in fact included in X.org's Xserver in the past. However,
X.org now prefers the MIT Expat License as the standard (which,
confusingly, is also referred to as the 'MIT License'). See
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/tree/COPYING

When Wayland started, it was Kristian Høgsberg's intent to license it
compatibly with X.org. "I wanted Wayland to be usable (license-wise)
whereever X was usable." But, the text of the older X11 License was
taken for Wayland, rather than X11's current standard. This patch
corrects this by swapping in the intended text."

libinput is a fork of weston and thus inherited the original license intent
and the license boilerplate itself.

See this thread on wayland-devel here for a discussion:

e39dca063b Rename MODEL_SYSTEM76_CLEVO to MODEL_CLEVO_W740SU
The System76 Galago Ultra Pro is a rebranded Clevo W740SU with changed

In the original bug report[1], a Galago Ultra Pro was returned to the
original DMI strings by flashing another firmware. This resulted in the
model identified as MODEL_SYSTEM76_CLEVO.

Since the actual manufacturer of the W740SU is Clevo and the CLEVO hwdb
entry already properly identifies other W740SU rebrands like the Schenker
S413, the model should be renamed to match.

522a42e9b4 Push the touchpad magic slowdown to the touchpad accel code
This way the unaccelerated deltas returned by libinput are correct.

To maintain the current behavior we slow down the input speed by the magic
factor and likewise the accelerated output speed. This produces virtually the
same accelerated deltas as the previous code.

The magic factor is applied to the default denominator for guessing a
resolution based on the touchpad diagonal. We can't really get around this
without having a resolution from the touchpad; meanwhile this produces
virtually the same coordinates before/after.

2af608cf02 Rename functions for left handed device configurations
Some devices require more than just flipping around the buttons, such as
tablets.
When it comes to devices like tablets, because the position of the palm rest is
on the right, the entire tablet has to be flipped around in order to be usable
by lefties. As such, this requires that we reverse the coordinates of the
tablets in addition to flipping the buttons on the tablet. As such, renaming
these functions so that they aren't specific to devices where only the buttons
are flipped seems appropriate.

20ac4b3abd Add pointer axis sources to the API
For a caller to implement/provide kinetic scrolling ("inertial scrolling",
"fling scrolling"), it needs to know how the scrolling motion was implemented,
and what to expect in the future. Add this information to the pointer axis
event.

The three scroll sources we have are:
* wheels: scrolling is in discreet steps, you don't know when it ends, the
wheel will just stop sending events
* fingers: scrolling is continuous coordinate space, we know when it stops and
  we can tell the caller
* continuous: scrolling is in continuous coordinate space but we may or may not
know when it stops. if scroll lock is used, the device may never technically
get out of scroll mode even if it doesn't send events at any given moment
Use case: trackpoint/trackball scroll emulation on button press

The stop event is now codified in the API documentation, so callers can use
that for kinetic scrolling. libinput does not implement kinetic scrolling
itself.

Not covered by this patch:
* The wheel event is currently defined as "typical mouse wheel step", this is
different to Qt where the step value is 1/8 of a degree. Some better
  definition here may help.
* It is unclear how an absolute device would map into relative motion if the
device itself is not controlling absolute motion.
* For diagonal scrolling, the vertical/horizontal terminator events would come
in separately. The caller would have to deal with that somehow.

8b7ef91c1a Add a function to retrieve the udev_device handle from a libinput device
The libinput device abstracts a number of things but sometimes the underlying
device is important. The udev device provides the necessary handle to access
that underlying device and various sysfs properties that may be necessary.

A function returning the device node would've done the same thing but is more
prone to race conditions than the udev_device.

0f8aa6d46c evdev: use a udev_device instead of separate sysname/syspath/devnode
Using a udev_device instead of the various bits separately safes us
re-initializing udev contexts whenever we need to compare the device. And
having the actual udev device makes it a bit easier to ensure that we're not
re-initializing a different device as a current one.
