a91e60902e libnm-core: make NMSettingSerial:parity an enum
NMSettingSerial:parity was defined as a char-typed property that could
have the (case-sensitive!) values 'n', 'E', or 'o'. This is zany. Add
an NMSettingSerialParity enum, and use that instead.

c43f88907b libnm-core: change DBUS_TYPE_G_UCHAR_ARRAY properties to G_TYPE_BYTES
Change all DBUS_TYPE_G_UCHAR_ARRAY properties to G_TYPE_BYTES, and
update corresponding APIs. Notably, this means they are now refcounted
rather than being copied.

Update the rest of NM for the changes. The daemon still converts SSIDs
to GByteArrays internally, because changing it to use GBytes has lots
of trickle-down effects. It can possibly be changed later.

9837565789 libnm-core: improve NMSettingIP4Config / NMSettingIP6Config property types
Make the :addresses and :routes properties be GPtrArrays of
NMIP4Address, etc, rather than just reflecting the D-Bus data.

Make the :dns properties be arrays of strings rather than arrays of
binary IP addresses (and update the corresponding APIs as well).

3a54d05098 libnm-core: change all mac-address properties to G_TYPE_STRING
Make all mac-address properties (including NMSettingBluetooth:bdaddr,
NMSettingOlpcMesh:dhcp-anycast-addr, and NMSettingWireless:bssid) be
strings, using _nm_setting_class_transform_property() to handle
translating to/from binary form when dealing with D-Bus.

Update everything accordingly for the change, and also add a test for
transformed setting properties to test-general.

6217c1e74c libnm-core: drop :interface-name properties on virtual NMSetting types
Remove the virtual :interface-name properties and their getters, and
use property overrides to do backward-compat handling when
serializing/deserializing.

Now when constructing an NMConnection from a hash, if the virtual
property is set and the NMSettingConnection property isn't, then the
override for NMSettingConnection:interface-name will set that property
to the value of the virtual interface-name. And when converting an
NMConnection to a hash, the overrides for the virtual properties will
return the value of NMSettingConnection:interface-name.

ab26964c56 all: stop using virtual interface-name properties
The virtual :interface-name properties (eg,
NMDeviceBond:interface-name) are deprecated in favor of
NMSettingConnection:interface-name, and nm_connection_verify() ensures
that their values are kept in sync. So (a) there is no need to set
those properties when we can just set
NMSettingConnection:interface-name instead, and (b) we can replace any
calls to the setting-specific get_interface_name() methods with
nm_connection_get_interface_name() or
nm_setting_connection_get_interface_name().

92d8286660 keyfile: let reader normalize() the connection, not only verify()
The new nm_connection_normalize() function allows to fixup an incomplete connection.
The keyfile reader should call normalize on a connection, so that we can implement
common normalizations there instead of inside the settings plugin.

e1ba13a426 libnm-core, libnm, core: make NMConnection an interface
The fact that NMRemoteConnection has to be an NMConnection and
therefore can't be an NMObject means that it needs to reimplement bits
of NMObject functionality (and likewise NMObject needs some special
magic to deal with it). Likewise, we will need a daemon-side
equivalent of NMObject as part of the gdbus port, and we would want
NMSettingsConnection to be able to inherit from this as well.

Solve this problem by making NMConnection into an interface, and
having NMRemoteConnection and NMSettingsConnection implement it. (We
use some hacks to keep the GHashTable of NMSettings objects inside
nm-connection.c rather than having to be implemented by the
implementations.)

Since NMConnection is no longer an instantiable type, this adds
NMSimpleConnection to replace the various non-D-Bus-based uses of
NMConnection throughout the code. nm_connection_new() becomes
nm_simple_connection_new(), nm_connection_new_from_hash() becomes
nm_simple_connection_new_from_hash(), and nm_connection_duplicate()
becomes nm_simple_connection_new_clone().

a7c4d53d03 all: port everything to libnm
Since the API has not changed at this point, this is mostly just a
matter of updating Makefiles, and changing references to the library
name in comments.

NetworkManager cannot link to libnm due to the duplicated type/symbol
names. So it links to libnm-core.la directly, which means that
NetworkManager gets a separate copy of that code from libnm.so.
Everything else links to libnm.

8aa3b9859b core: merge src/config, src/logging, src/posix-signals into src/
Some subdirectories of src/ encapsulate large chunks of functionality,
but src/config/, src/logging/, and src/posix-signals/ are really only
separated out because they used to be built into separate
sub-libraries that were needed either for test programs, or to prevent
circular dependencies. Since this is no longer relevant, simplify
things by moving their files back into the main source directory.

b28f6526c2 core: fill in nm-types.h, clean out other headers
Clean up some of the cross-includes between headers (which made it so
that, eg, if you included NetworkManagerUtils.h in a test program, you
would need to build the test with -I$(top_srcdir)/src/platform, and if
you included nm-device.h you'd need $(POLKIT_CFLAGS)) by moving all
GObject struct definitions for src/ and src/settings/ into nm-types.h
(which already existed to solve the NMDevice/NMActRequest circular
references).

Update various .c files to explicitly include the headers they used to
get implicitly, and remove some now-unnecessary -I options from
Makefiles.

b7c7832ae8 settings: remove libnm-glib references
Several plugins were using -I$(top_srcdir)/libnm-glib, which is bad
since libnm-glib has its own nm-types.h which is different from src's.
Worse yet, some were actually linking against libnm-glib (which
presumably only worked at all because they weren't calling any
functions in it and so the linker just ignored the request). Fix both
problems.

8ce1eb3837 nmtst: add new mode where tests assert against logged messages (assert_messages)
In this mode, nmtst itself will not log anything and not set the logging
level. Also, it will set g_log_set_always_fatal().

This is for tests that want to assert against all logged messages via
g_test_expect_message().

In this mode also setting the logging level via NMTST_DEBUG variable has
no effect. The test is expected to manage the logging level itself and
changing the logging level might interfere with the test.

As a showcase, move keyfile/tests/test-keyfile.c to nmtst.

0140cdb73d core: use g_test_expect_message() in test programs
Use g_test_expect_message() in the various daemon-side test programs,
to avoid spewing error messages when (successfully) running "make
check".

The ifnet and ifupdown plugins are extremely verbose, so they were
partially "fixed" by turning down the logging level from INFO to WARN
in those tests.

test-dhcp-options needed to be converted to gtestutils so that the
newly-added check in nm-dbus-manager would recognize it as a test
program and not try to create a private bus.

9c4d86ee80 libnm-util, libnm-glib: add versioned deprecation/availability macros
Add versioned NM_DEPRECATED_IN_* and NM_AVAILABLE_IN_* macros, and tag
new/deprecated functions accordingly. (All currently-deprecated
functions are assumed to have been deprecated in 0.9.10.)

Add NM_VERSION_MIN_REQUIRED and NM_VERSION_MAX_ALLOWED macros which
can be set to determine which versions will cause warnings.

With the current settings, external consumers of the
libnm-util/libnm-glib APIs will have MIN_REQUIRED and MAX_ALLOWED both
set to NM_VERSION_0_9_8 by default, meaning they will get warnings
about functions added in 0.9.10. NM internally sets
NM_VERSION_MAX_ALLOWED to NM_VERSION_NEXT_STABLE to ensure that it is
always allowed to use all APIs.

e3f89eb432 keyfile: fix reader and writer for writing routes
Keyfile plugin writer had a bug, when writing IP6 routes with gateway
"::". Instead of writing "net/plen,,metric" it wrote "net/plen,metric".

- fix this bug and add test cases. Also, add a workaround to reader, to
  accept such wrongly written IP6 routes as valid.

- change the writer for IP4 addresses, IP4 routes and IP6 routes to
  omit the gateway and the metric, if it is 0.0.0.0/::/0, respectively.
  Also change the reader, to accept such empty gateway as valid.
  It only omits the gateway, if the metric is not 0, this means it would
  write:
      route1=1.2.3.4/24,0.0.0.0,1
  instead of
      route1=1.2.3.4/24,,1
  Both representations are now supported by the reader, but older plugin
  versions could only read the former (thus, we keep writing that
  version).
  With a metric of zero, it would instead write:
      route1=1.2.3.4/24

- some refactoring and code cleanup. Fix a memory leak.

bfce3f7dc8 build: switch from $(INCLUDES) to $(AM_CPPFLAGS) to make automake happy
Unfortunately, $(AM_CPPFLAGS) gets overridden by per-target _CPPFLAGS
variables, which $(INCLUDES) did not, so this requires some additional
changes.

In most places, I have just gotten rid of the per-target _CPPFLAGS
variables; in directories with a single target, the per-target
variable is unnecessary, and in directories with multiple targets, the
per-target variable is often undesirable, since it forces some files
to be compiled twice, even though there ends up being no difference
between the two files.

08f04466e8 all: remove more pointless NULL checks
GObject creation cannot normally fail, except for types that implement
GInitable and take a GError in their _new() method. Some NM types
override constructor() and return NULL in some cases, but these
generally only happen in the case of programmer error (eg, failing to
set a mandatory property), and so crashing is reasonable (and most
likely inevitable anyway).

So, remove all NULL checks after calls to g_object_new() and its
