35f52aafc1 platform: drop nm_platform_ip6_route_get_all()
We no longer need a full clone of routes. The only remaining uses
are in test code. Rework it.

935411e5c0 core: refactor NMIP4Config to use dedup-index for IPv4 routes
Eventually, every NMPlatformIP4Route, NMPlatformIP6Route,
NMPlatformIP4Address and NMPlatformIP6Address should be shared
an deduplicated via the global NMDedupMultiIndex instance.

As first proof of concept, refactor NMIP4Config to track
IPv4 routes via the shared multi_idx. There is later potential
for improvement, when we pass (deduplicated) NMPObject instances
around instead of plain NMPlatformIP4Route, which needs still
a lot of comparing and cloning.

89385bd968 core: pass NMDedupMultiIndex instance to NMIP4Config and other
NMIP4Config, NMIP6Config, and NMPlatform shall share one
NMDedupMultiIndex instance.

For that, pass an NMDedupMultiIndex instance to NMPlatform and NMNetns.
NMNetns than passes it on to NMDevice, NMDhcpClient, NMIP4Config and NMIP6Config.
So currently NMNetns is the access point to the shared NMDedupMultiIndex
instance, and it gets it from it's NMPlatform instance.

The NMDedupMultiIndex instance is really a singleton, we don't want
multiple instances of it. However, for testing, instead of adding a
singleton instance, pass the instance explicitly around.

ea6648cea1 all: replace uses of inet_aton() and friends
rpmdiff complains about uses of inet_aton, inet_makeaddr, inet_netof,
inet_ntoa under the IPv6 section:

   usr/sbin/NetworkManager on aarch64 i686 x86_64 ppc ppc64 ppc64le s390 s390x uses function inet_aton, which may impact IPv6 support

I think the warning is bogus, but refactor our code to avoid it.

Note that systemd code still uses them, so it don't avoid the rpmdiff
warning. But let's not diverge our systemd import from upstream for this.

- for NMSettingBond:validate_ip() also avoid g_strsplit_set() which
  allocates a full strv. Instead, we can do with one g_strdup().

- for test-resolvconf-capture.c, replace the functions with macros.
  Macros should be avoided usually, but for test asserts they are
  more convenient as they preserved the __FILE__:__LINE__ of where
  the assertion fails.

8a6eef6aa7 device: keep NMNetns instance per device
This also ensures that we own a reference to the
NMPlatform, NMRouteManager and NMDefaultRouteManager
instances. See bug rh#1440089 where we might access
the singleton getter after destroing the singleton
instance of NMRouteManager. This is prevented by
keeping a reference to those instances -- indirectly
via the netns instance.

Later, we may add support for multiple namespaces. Then it might
make sense to swap the NMNetns instance of a device when moving
the device between namespaces.

Also, drop the use of singelton instances.

93f7ab2c54 core: consolidate sorting of connections by autoconnect/timestamp
NMPolicy's auto_activate_device() wants to sort by autoconnect-priority,
nm_utils_cmp_connection_by_autoconnect_priority() but fallback to the default
nm_settings_connection_cmp_default(), which includes the timestamp.

Extend nm_settings_connection_cmp_default() to consider the
autoconnect-priority as well. Thus change behavior so that
nm_settings_connection_cmp_default() is the sort order that
auto_activate_device() wants. That makes sense, as
nm_settings_connection_cmp_default() already considered the
ability to autoconnect as first. Hence, it should also honor
the autoconnect priority.

When doing that, rename nm_settings_connection_cmp_default()
to nm_settings_connection_cmp_autoconnect_priority().

functions will follow.

ba1cc6a288 core: refactor evaluation of device's match-spec
Previously, we would have different functions like
  - nm_match_spec_device_type()
  - nm_match_spec_hwaddr()
  - nm_match_spec_s390_subchannels()
  - nm_match_spec_interface_name()
which all would handle one type of match-spec.

So, to get the overall result whether the arguments
match or not, nm_device_spec_match_list() had to stich
them together and iterate the list multiple times.

Refactor the code to have one nm_match_spec_device()
function that gets all relevant paramters.

The upside is:

  - the logic how to evaluate the match-spec is all at one place
    (match_device_eval()) instead of spread over multiple
    functions.

  - It requires iterating the list at most twice. Twice, because
    we do a fast pre-search for "*".

One downside could be, that we have to pass all 4 arguments
for the evaluation, even if the might no be needed. That is,
because "nm-core-utils.c" shall be independend from NMDevice, it
cannot receive a device instance to get the parameters as needed.
As we would add new match-types, the argument list would grow.
However, all arguments are cached and fetching them from the
device's private data is very cheap.

f0d40525df device: support dynamic "connection.stable-id" in form of text-substitution
Usecase: when connecting to a public Wi-Fi with MAC address randomization
("wifi.cloned-mac-address=random") you get on every re-connect a new
IP address due to the changing MAC address.
"wifi.cloned-mac-address=stable" is the solution for that. But that
means, every time when reconnecting to this network, the same ID will
be reused. We want an ID that is stable for a while, but at a later
point a new ID should e generated when revisiting the Wi-Fi network.

Extend the stable-id to become dynamic and support templates/substitutions.
Currently supported is "${CONNECTION}", "${BOOT}" and "${RANDOM}".
Any unrecognized pattern is treated verbaim/untranslated.

"$$" is treated special to allow escaping the '$' character. This allows
the user to still embed verbatim '$' characters with the guarantee that
future versions of NetworkManager will still generate the same ID.
Of course, a user could just avoid '$' in the stable-id unless using
it for dynamic substitutions.

Later we might want to add more recognized substitutions. For example, it
could be useful to generate new IDs based on the current time. The ${} syntax
is extendable to support arguments like "${PERIODIC:weekly}".

Also allow "connection.stable-id" to be set as global default value.
Previously that made no sense because the stable-id was static
and is anyway strongly tied to the identity of the connection profile.
Now, with dynamic stable-ids it gets much more useful to specify
a global default.

Note that pre-existing stable-ids don't change and still generate
the same addresses -- unless they contain one of the new ${} patterns.

21ae09c1cc core: add assertions for network_id/stable_type
We require a network-id. Assert that it is set.

Also, we encode the stable-id as uint8. Thus, add
an assertion that we don't use more then 254 IDs.

If we ever make use of stable-type 255, we must extend
the encoding to allow for more values. The assertion
is there to catch that.

Also, ifnet plugin would read the configuration value, which is just wrong

44ecb41593 build: don't add subdirectories to include search path but require qualified include
Keep the include paths clean and separate. We use directories to group source
files together. That makes sense (I guess), but then we should use this
grouping also when including files. Thus require to #include files with their
path relative to "src/".

Also, we build various artifacts from the "src/" tree. Instead of having
individual CFLAGS for each artifact in Makefile.am, the CFLAGS should be
unified. Previously, the CFLAGS for each artifact differ and are inconsistent
in which paths they add to the search path. Fix the inconsistency by just
don't add the paths at all.

2c26e3e7f9 device: make registration of internal device-factories more explicit
Internal device types are a static thing. Let's not do a
constructor function to register the device factory.

This gets rid of all attribute((constructor)) functions inside

run code before main(). For example, at that point logging is
not yet initialized, but with code that runs before main() it
is hard to ensure that we don't log anything yet.

e3a072f3c0 build: don't add systemd path the include search path
Our internal copy of systemd should not be in the search path.
Instead, let users only
  #include "systemd/nm-sd.h"
which then includes everything from systemd that we need.

We want to avoid to accidentally include anything from our
systemd-copy. Any user of that should only include "nm-sd.h",
which then includes everything that is needed further.

For example, "src/devices/wwan/nm-modem-manager.c" has
  #include <systemd/nm-daemon.h>
which in turn includes
  #include "_sd-common.h"
This works all correctly before, because #include "" will first
look in the directory where sd-daemon.h is. However, our mixing of
external systemd library and internal copy is rather dangerous.
Try to avoid it further by keeping the include paths clean.

0bdcab100c all: cleanup includes in header files
- don't include "nm-default.h" in header files. Every source file must

- we don't support compiling NetworkManager itself with a C++ compiler. Remove

9c8b7b001e systemd/tests: don't link test-systemd against libNetworkManagerBase
One point of test-systemd is to see whether our internal systemd code can
fully link without external systemd library. In fact, we want all symbols
from the internal systemd code to resolve, because when we link against
an external libsystemd library, we may mix differing APIs, resulting in
subtle bugs.

Currently, it may well be that libNetworkManagerBase.la already links
against libsystemd, which would result in test-systemd to wrongly
succeed resolving all names.

Fix that, by don't link libNetworkManagerBase.la into test-systemd.
